A HOMETOWN TRIBUTE

The Good Land coffee blend is more than a celebration of flavor—it’s a tribute to the land, its history, and the people who have stewarded it for generations. Milwaukee, whose name comes from the Algonquian word Millioke, meaning “The Good Land,” has always been a place of abundance, connection, and community. Long before it became a city, this region was home to Indigenous peoples like the Menominee, Ho-Chunk, and Potawatomi, who cultivated the land, traded along its rivers, and shared their knowledge of sustainable living. Their legacy lives on in the place names, traditions, and cultural contributions that continue to shape Milwaukee’s identity. This coffee is a nod to that enduring spirit, honoring the roots of the land while looking toward a future that respects and uplifts its original caretakers.

THE JOURNEY

The Good Land begins with the hands of coffee producers in Nicaragua, Peru, and Colombia, whose dedication to their craft mirrors the deep connection Indigenous communities have to their own lands. The washed Peru beans, with their bright floral notes, the natural Yellow Colombia, bursting with juicy acidity, and the medium-roasted Nicaragua, rich with caramel and toffee, come together to create a cup that is as vibrant and layered as Milwaukee itself. Each bean tells a story of care, tradition, and respect for the earth—values that echo the Indigenous principles of sustainability and reciprocity.

In blending these coffees, we aim to honor not only the farmers who grow them but also the Indigenous history of the land we call home. Milwaukee’s story is one of resilience and renewal, and The Good Land is our way of acknowledging the past while fostering a deeper connection to the present. By celebrating the flavors of these beans and the cultures they represent, we hope to inspire reflection on what it means to truly honor the land and its people. This coffee is an invitation to savor the richness of the earth, to recognize the hands that have nurtured it, and to carry forward the spirit of stewardship that has always defined “The Good Land.”

How fresh is your coffee?

Our coffee is roasted fresh to order and ships within 24 hours to ensure peak flavor. For optimal taste, we recommend brewing between 4 and 21 days after the roast date—this allows the coffee to degas and fully develop. After that window, it will still taste great for several weeks (or more), especially if stored in a cool, airtight container.
